At the Lower Sabie rest camp in the Kruger National Park, there is a birdbath close to the reception that most people simply gaze over while passing. I, however, saw a great opportunity to photograph the diversity of birds that were bathing there; I set up my tripod and started shooting away.
To capture the quick motions of a bird bathing, it required an incredibly fast shutter speed of 1/6400sec. This simultaneously opened up a world beyond anything our eyes can comprehend. I would see the bird approach the bath, start clicking the shutter, and in a matter of seconds the bird would be gone. It was only when I reviewed the photos that I could actually see what the bird was doing because it was simply too quick for my eyes to notice.
